Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Premium Hoboken Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using this site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them.

If you have a signed written agreement with us for a specific job, that agreement controls where it differs from this page. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site, and call us before booking so we can talk it through.

What we do and what this site is for

We're a concrete contractor in Hoboken, NJ, and we work in Hoboken and the cities around it. Our flatwork covers driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors, and we also build steps, walls, footings and foundations.

The information on our home page and service pages is general. It explains how this kind of work usually goes, but it isn't a quote, a promise about your property or engineering advice. Your job is defined by the estimate and agreement we give you after we've seen the site. You can read more about how we work on our About page.

Estimates and pricing

Estimates are free and come with no obligation. We base them on what we can see and measure at your property, so they cover the work as described in writing and nothing else.

Some things only show up once the old slab is out, like soft or wet ground under it, buried debris, old footings or roots. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, show you, and get your approval before doing extra work. Any added work and cost will be put in writing.

An estimate holds for the period written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, and we'll update the figure before scheduling.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We give you a start date when you book, but concrete depends on the weather. If rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat would weaken the pour, we'll move the date and tell you as soon as we know, because a slab poured in bad conditions doesn't last.

Delays from weather, material shortages, utility issues, permit or inspection timing, or anything else outside our control aren't a breach of our agreement. We'll reschedule at the earliest date that works for both of us.

If you need to cancel or move your date, call us at (201) 502-5351 as early as you can. Once materials are ordered or the concrete is scheduled for delivery, you may be responsible for costs we can't get back, and your written agreement will spell those out.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your written agreement. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made, and you'll owe any reasonable costs of collecting what's due, as far as New Jersey law allows.

Your part after the pour

New concrete needs time to cure, which means it keeps gaining strength for days after it's poured. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and you agree to keep people, vehicles and heavy loads off it until then.

We're not responsible for damage caused by using the slab too early, by vehicles or equipment heavier than the slab was built for, by deicing salts or chemicals, or by changes someone else makes to the grading or drainage around it.

Guarantee and what we don't warrant

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it with you.

Concrete shrinks as it dries, so some fine cracking is normal. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, but we can't promise a slab will never crack. Small color differences, hairline cracks and minor surface wear aren't defects.

Beyond our satisfaction guarantee and anything stated in your written agreement, we make no other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. We also make no warranty about the accuracy or availability of this website.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, Premium Hoboken Concrete isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your driveway, lost income or inconvenience. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

We're not responsible for problems caused by conditions we couldn't reasonably see, such as hidden utilities that weren't marked, or by work done by other contractors. Nothing on this page limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

If we disagree

Most problems get sorted out with a phone call, so please reach us first and give us a fair chance to fix it. We'll respond and work with you in good faith.

If we can't settle it that way, either of us may take the matter to a court with jurisdiction in New Jersey, including small claims court where the amount qualifies.

Governing law

These terms, your use of this site and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. Changes apply from the date they're posted here, and they don't change a written agreement you've already signed with us.

If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
